General Membership Meeting, Saturday, Oct. 31st, 2009 2:00 pm

UPCOMING GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETINGS:
You are always invited to attend the Monthly General Membership Meetings 2:00-4:00 pm at the Asian Cultural Center every last Saturday of the month: October 31st, and November 28th, 2009. For 2010: January 30th, February 27th, April 24th, and May 29th.

KARILAGAN Folkloric Group
Karilagan will be performing on Friday, November 6th at the Guadalupe Church. Practice days are: Thursday from 6:30-9 pm and Saturdays from 2pm to 6 pm. Check your email for practice schedules which are good through January 2010. TAGALOG CLASS
Classes started on Saturday, October 3rd, at 2 pm and every Saturday thereafter at the Asian Center. Thank you to Dr. Aurora Hovland for volunteering to teach the class. If you are interested in signing up for the class, please call any of the above listed officers.

CHRISTMAS PARTY
Christmas party will be held on Saturday, December 12th, 2009 at the Asian Cultural Center. The Christmas Raffle tickets have been distributed and members have started selling. Tickets are selling for $10.00 each. Proceeds will go towards helping the Asian Alaskan Cultural Center (AACC) fund its upcoming 2010 - “Asian Culture Night” which feature a Filipino dance group called “Likha” from California. If you are interested in buying and/or selling raffle tickets, please contact Imelda at 764-8387First Prize will be $2,000.00 CASH and ten consolation prizes of $100.00 each.

FUNDRAISING FOR THE PHILIPPINES FLOOD VICTIMS
The FCAA is planning a fundraising project to help the recent flood victims in the Philippines. Some ideas are: (1) “Split the Pot” drawing tickets and (2) a silent auction at our December 12 Annual Christmas Party. Other suggestions are welcome. Please attend our monthly general membership meeting on October 31 to share your ideas. Members and friends are encouraged to participate and to help out our kababayans in the Philippines. If we decide to have the “Split the Pot” and Silent Auction at the annual Christmas Party, you can help by purchasing tickets and/or donating items for the silent auction. . Donations of aid intended for Philippine flood victims through the FCAA are tax deductible. The FCAA issues receipts for donations made.
