You are always invited to attend the Monthly General Membership Meetings 2:00-4:00 pm at the Asian Cultural Center every last Saturday of the month: January 31st, February 28th, April 25th, May 30th, September 26th, October 31st, November 28th, 2009.

KARILAGAN Folkloric Group

Members had a break during the Holidays. The first practice will be on Saturday January 10th from 3-6 pm. Upcoming practice schedules will be posted and members will be notified. If you have any questions, please call our Cultural Chairperson, Hennie Aquino at 243-5685 or Letty Tadina at 830-4195.

CHRISTMAS Party

The party was a success!! Many members and friends attended. Food was plentiful, the program kept attendees entertained, and there were lots of goodies from Santa for the children. A BIG BIG THANK YOU to Members and Officers: Merba, Imelda, Quint, Nic, Mayette, Kevin, Allyn, Gladys, Honeylet, Evelyn1, Evelyn2, Fran, Marlon, Roy, Anita, Estela, Fred , Linda and MANY MORE and to all who helped with event - you know who you are– the list is long. Thanks again to ALL. Now, we need to gear up for our annual Banquet in March.

AUCTION

Thanks to Evelyn for organizing the Auction table. The Auction brought in $334.00. The FCAA would like to thank all the members and friends who participated and contributed items for the auction.

44TH ANNUAL FOUNDER’S DAY Banquet and Ball

The 2009 Founder’s Day Banquet and Ball will be held at the Sheraton Hotel on Saturday, March 28, 2009. Event chairperson is Letty Tadina (830-4195) and co-chair is Rina Mangrobang (360-0549). Dance practice sessions: kids, youths and adults are now well underway.
Banquet dinner tickets – tables or seats will be reserved and assigned upon receipt of payment. NOTE: If you want front row seating, buy your tickets early.

SCHOLARSHIP

The FCAA’s Educational Scholarship will be awarded at the annual banquet in March 2009. For eligibility requirements, please contact our Scholarship Chairperson – Honeylet Juanitez at 952-2297.

TAGALOG CLASS

Registration for our Tagalog class is now open. Honeylet has agreed to teach the class again. We have purchased several workbooks for the students to use beginning on Saturday, February 7th. For questions, please call Honeylet at 952-2297 or Elvira Taylor at 830-3262. Registration fee is $5.00.
FILIPINO DISPLAY CASE
We are planning to update the items in our display case at the Asian Cultural Center. We have not changed or upgraded our display in a long time. If you wish to donate Filipino items for the display, please call Letty at 830-4195.
